We inherit our genetic information (DNA) from our biological parents; half from the mother and half from the father. As a result, children are made up of DNA which contains similarities to their parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Our mother and father inherited their DNA from their parents, and in turn they inherited their parents’ DNA.

ADAPT will compare the DNA pattern of the child with another alleged relative. This comparison determines whether a biological relationship exists.
